A new computer out of the box is not ready to use. It is full of trial software, missing your files, signed into nothing and printing to nowhere. We set it up properly so the first time you sit down at it, everything is already where it should be.
File transfer is where most self-setups go wrong. Documents get copied but photos buried in an old folder do not. Email is signed in but years of saved mail lives only on the old machine. Bookmarks and saved passwords are forgotten until the day you need one.
We inventory what is actually on the old computer, agree with you on what matters, then move it and verify it opened correctly on the new machine before anything gets erased. Keep the old computer until you have used the new one for a couple of weeks — it costs nothing and it is the best safety net there is.
Setup is done remotely once the new computer is connected to your network. A typical single-computer setup with data transfer takes one to two hours at $129 per hour, and we confirm an estimate before starting.
If you have not bought the computer yet, we are happy to tell you what specification actually matters for what you do — usually far less than a store will sell you.
Yes. As long as both computers are on and connected to your network, we can move files, email, bookmarks and settings from the old one to the new one remotely.
Most single-computer setups including data transfer take one to two hours, depending on how much data is being moved.
No. We copy rather than move, and we recommend keeping the old computer untouched for a few weeks until you are confident everything came across.
Yes. Tell us what you use a computer for and we will tell you the specification that actually matters, which usually saves money rather than adding to it.
